Q4W4 - April 11 - 14

 Dear Parents,

We hope your families had a great 4-day weekend! It's hard to believe we are almost half way through the fourth quarter!

FRIDAY IS A FULL DAY as since this is a four day week.

Thursday afternoon is our Trumpet of the Swan Celebration! Students will have a blast! Please begin sending donations with your students!

We have lessons all the way until the dismissal bell. When appointments need to be made please check your student's class schedule and try not to have them miss the same subject multiple times in a row. The best time to schedule appointments would be from lunch (11:00am) through the end of our reading block time (1:55pm) This is almost a 3 hour window where the students would only be missing Spalding instruction. Unlike other subjects, Spalding does not have daily grades, other than the participation grade, taken during the lesson.

When it comes to homework, specifically math, please make sure your students are doing all the work. If they don't understand, please see the suggestions below in the math section to try and help; however, do not tell them how to do the problem. When students come to class with all the answers correct, that tells the teacher they understood the problems. We need to see the errors they are making in order to help with gaps in comprehension. If the student is being made to erase and correct all their answers at home, it does not help them to work independently, and it does not accurately portray their understanding to their teacher.

Your students will need Little Prince this week, so please send your student's copy to school with them on Monday. There are multiple translations for this book. Here is the ISBN for the correct translation: 978-0156012195

Here are a few places to order if your student still needs their book.

Please see below for information about 3rd grade's weekly events, traffic reminders, & Save the Dates.

Third grade is continuing Typing Club this week Your student has the option to continue the lessons at home, but it is not a requirement. They will be coming home with their username and website information in their agendas.

What your students can expect this week:
