Third Grade News
Dear Parents,
We hope your students had a great first 3 days of class! This is the first full week of school and Friday will be a full day of classes as shown on the school calendar. It is NOT early release.
As we continue getting to know your students and diving deeper into our lessons, we wanted to give a few reminders.
- Car-line in the mornings and afternoon will get better as long we all work together to follow the designated wave times and the traffic plan that has been communicated multiple times. If you have not reviewed the traffic plan, please do so as soon as possible.
- DO NOT MOVE YOUR VEHICLE IF CHILDREN ARE WITHIN ARMS LENGTH.
- Students who arrive before 7:30 AM will be going out to recess and/or can get breakfast.
- The school day starts at 7:50 AM. Please have students to the school with enough time to be unpacked and in their seats by the start time.
- For any absences or late arrivals, contact the school AND the teacher. If you are planning to pick your student up early or arrive late due to an appointment, please inform your student's teacher with ample notice and send a doctor's note with them the next day.
- Students need to bring a water bottle daily.
- 3rd grade has snack during Literature. If you choose to, please send your student with a nutritional snack.
- Supplies Needed:
- Students need a Latin binder and flashcard holder (if don't already have one). They began working on these in Week 1.
- Orange Music Composition Book. They began working on these in Week 1.
- Music and Latin Supplies were on the list for the edukit, but were cut off when sent to parents who did not get the edukit. Please get these for your student as soon as possible.
- All students are expected to have a copy of the grade level Classics to Keep. They need this to follow along in Literature and to reread as needed. We started Little House on the Prairie week 1.
- Practice your students addition and subtraction facts for 20 minutes each night if they have already finished their math homework before they leave school.
- Students should be reading 20 minutes daily. Reading Logs will be sent home Monday and will be a weekly homework grade.
- Parents need to sign off on the reading log that their child read 20 minutes. Parents should be signing behavior charts as well. Both will be in the Take Home Folder and checked daily by the teacher for completion.
